About the Isuzu Trucks Gigamax Series

Capable of holding up to 15,681 litres of diesel fuel, the Isuzu Gigamax is powered by a cutting-edge turbo-intercooled, common-rail, electronically managed diesel engine, making it the highest-capacity Japanese designed engine presently in use in South Africa.

This extra-heavy vehicle is capable of hauling 14,000kg more than the country’s legal limit of 56,000kg. Perfect for the most demanding long-haul trips, the Isuzu Gigamax has enormous fuel tank capacity. When operating at a 56000kg GCM, the Gigamax can travel as far as 2000km without a stop.

Three differential axle-locks (an inter-axle diff-lock as well as an inter-wheel diff-lock for each of the two axles) are in place to ensure maximum axle traction in the slipperiest of conditions.

Isuzu Trucks Gigamax Series Features

Two-year warranty with no distance limitation. Which means the Isuzu Gigamax easily able to reach up 400,000km within the warranty period.

Supreme stopping power.  Stop when you need to with retardation control, as well as an engine exhaust brake which is complemented by a hydraulic Voith retarder that serves as a second-stage driveline speed-control device. This sort of stopping power is essential on today’s busy trucking routes.

Powerful braking systems like ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) come standard. These are further reinforced by ventilated disc-brakes on all wheels. These brake pads have an extremely long lifespan due to the Voith retarder and engine exhaust brake.
