
Chevrolet in Detroit (USA) has announced some staggering sales figures with 4.8 million vehicles delivered up until the end of November 2011. This is an annual sales record number that follows a globally celebrated 100th birthday of the Chevrolet brand.
The Chev brand’s global market share has grown by nearly 0.5% in 2011 in the mid size and performance markets.
China , Russia, Uzbekistan, India, South Korea and Vietnam are among the GM’s footprint.
These new emerging markets have no doubt contributed to the Chevrolets global sales figures with a Chev being sold somewhere in the world every 6.6 seconds, - that equates to 9 vehicles being sold every minute.
Latin American markets (inclusive of Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Columbia) for GM, reports a one in five vehicles sold – making it the No1 brand with a market share of 18.7% in this region.

Chevrolet Sonic - is reported to be selling so well in the US market that dealers have only 17 days supply to pull their stock from. The Sonic was launched in South Africa in December 2011 and is already creating new sales records.
