Amy Biehl Foundation. Reeds Motor Group is an active sponsor and friend of the Amy Biehl Foundation. Over the years the Foundation has flourished in its mission to Weave a Barrier Against Violence by emphasizing social, cultural and economic empowerment through its programmes. Currently, two of the young men who were convicted of Amy’s murder and granted amnesty, work for the Foundation to make these programmes a success. They are a living embodiment of the values, such as forgiveness, reconciliation and tolerance, which we strive to teach the youth of Cape Town through our work. Visit them at www.amybiehl.co.za
Volunteer Wildfire Services. Reeds has also been a proud vehicle sponsor of this amazing group of volunteers. The Volunteer Wildfire Services is a group of about 150 men and women from all walks of life who assist with the combating and extinguishing of wildfires that occur in the Cape Peninsula.
Established in 1999, the VWS was baptised by fire during the devastating fires of 2000. It is now a highly organized registered Section 21 Company that continues to grow in reputation and stature. Over the past 9 years it has assisted the Table Mountain National Park and surrounding areas with some of the wildest fires Cape Town has experienced. Visit them at www.capefires.com
Beautiful Gate Ministry is an interdenominational Christian organisation providing care and support to vulnerable children and families. We believe that the best place for each child is within a family, and that the best way to support families is to enable their community to provide support. In South Africa, our community based ministry is situated on the outskirts of Cape Town, in the informal area of Lower Crossroads. Here we aim to restore the capacity of the community and of families to care for their children or, where this is not possible, to find alternative families.
In this regard Beautiful Gate has emerged as a trustworthy partner to the local community and to other NGO’s as well as government in addressing issues of HIV/AIDS and its impact on children, families and the community. Visit their website at www.beautifulgate.org

Western Province Preparatory School or WETPUPS as it is known is one of the most respected private primary schools in the Western Cape. Headmaster, Michael Hosty is the man in charge of this school that was established in 1912. You can therefore imagine that this school has a lot of heritage and history. Michael says: “We aim to encourage the boys to explore their strengths and abilities as well as learn to live with their limitations. By achieving success in one sphere or another, their confidence and self belief grows. At the same time, this successful creativity – be it in academic or extra mural areas – transfers its effect to other parts of their lives. High standards are expected and from our community life they learn tolerance, consideration and respect for those with whom they live”. Please visit their website at www.wetpups.co.za
Pedal Power Association The Pedal Power Association is the largest cycling organization in South Africa. It currently has some 16 000 paid-up members, spread all over the country, although the largest component is in the Western Cape, where the Association has its headquarters.
Founded in 1976 as Western Province Pedal Power Association, it came into being as a result of the running of the first Cycle Tour that was to develop into the now-world famous Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour. The largest component of the service Pedal Power provides for its members is the provision of more than 50 organised cycle events per annum. These include mass participation fun-rides, Mountain Bike events, recreational tours as well as events for the more competitive cyclist.
The Association expends considerable effort in the field of development of the sport in the poorer, previously disadvantaged areas and presently supports several clubs based in the Western Cape. It is also involved with various safe cycling initiatives. Visit the PPA at www.pedalpower.co.za
