The light commercial vehicle segment in South Africa is poised to be redefined in 2019, all thanks to the addition of the all-new Opel van range. The range includes the Opel Combo Life, a people carrier and exceptional family vehicle, as well as the Opel Combo Cargo, a newly developed panel van that has already scooped up the prestigious IVOTY (International Van of the Year) award.

Jarlath Sweeney, who acts as the chairman of the IVOTY jury, was quoted as saying that the new Opel range is one of the most game-changing additions to the global small panel van line-up in years.
The jury’s decision to award the coveted title to the commercial iteration of the new Opel panel van was based on the fact that it has been designed with the discerning, tech-forward business owner and fleet manager in mind, giving them the ability to manage compliance and put safety measures in place to safeguard for their drivers.
According to Sweeney, some of the many features of the Opel Combo Cargo that stood out include:
Excellent driver aids , including an overload alert system & surround rear vision
Two wheelbase variants & two lengths
Two-, three- & five-seater versions
An all-wheel drive variant (excellent for utility companies that require traction on harsher terrain)
A load capacity of up to 1000kg

The new Opel Combo Life people-carrier is also set to become very popular with South African families and business owners. With its spacious cabin and high degree of flexibility, it can be customised according to any number of driver requirements. This includes:

One or two rear doors
